In its 10th year, Pharmacy Show has become the largest pharmacy training event in the UK and plays a vital role in supporting both community, primary and secondary care pharmacists with free continued professional development (CPD), clinical and business training and advice vital for the future of the profession.

Below is a brief insight into each theatre about the sort of sessions and speakers to expect at the show this year and how they can benefit you.

Keynote Theatre: Pharmacy 2016 and Beyond 

This will home the big topics affecting pharmacy RIGHT NOW and debate the issues facing pharmacy beyond 2016. With government officials, regulatory and leadership organisations, to entrepreneurs and grass roots pharmacists this will be a two day conference programme not to be missed. 

Community pharmacy has never faced as many challenges and opportunities as it does now, and these updates will give you an insight as to what’s now, what’s next and how it affects you.

Pharmacy Business Academy: Quick Wins

This ‘academy’ will deliver 30 minute “how to” sessions with simple, top tips and practical advice that pharmacy professionals and business owners can take away and put into practice the next day. Marketing, improving efficiency’s, motivating staff, time management, finance planning, making more sales – to survive - will all be high up on the agenda.

  • How can you promote your services and increase your turnover on a budget?
  • How can you find more time to do the good stuff?
  • How can you plan your business for growth when you can’t see the wood for the trees?

  • How can you get new services commissioned?

Pharmacy Technology: Embracing the Digital Revolution

What technological advances are available, how can you take advantage of them to deliver integrated service? Do you have the tools to offer patients, are you fully up to speed with SCR, claiming EPS tokens and getting all the income you could? Find out and more in this show-floor dedicated theatre.

PSNC Pharmacy Services Innovation Theatre

This will inspire and motivate the you with ideas around commissioned services (for additional income streams, ways to connect with CCGs, LAs and local charities), and importantly will showcase what community pharmacy is capable of across the country.

Practice Pharmacy Hub: Developing pharmacy in general practice

This new education feature on the show floor will support clinical pharmacists in their new practice-based role, and offer advice to those keen to integrate community pharmacy with general practice. 

Chaired by Ravi Sharma of the National Practice Pharmacy Group and run in association with the PCPA, this show floor theatre will cover:

  • How to integrate community and general practice services
  • How to approach GPs about having practice pharmacists
  • How to set up a clinic in general practice
  • How to develop scope of practice in general practice
  • Clinical services management in general practice (incl. Diabetes, COPD etc.)
  • Managing elderly patients with polypharmacy
  • How to access integration fund through general practice

A two day programme of short sharp presentations which will cover solutions including OTC brands to support your patients to manage their own health. This includes, dry eyes, fevers, heartburn, headache, AMR, Emollients and marketing so your community knows how you can support them as well as skin disorders and respiratory infection. Practical self-care OTC mini presentations will cover dye eye, childhood fever, heartburn, headaches, AMR, and Emollients.
