New Natural Products & Complementary Healthcare Pavilion at 2010 Show

Pharmacies will be able to source dietary supplements, alternative medicines, herbal remedies, homeopathic medicines, natural lines of personal care and health products from the new Natural Products and VMS pavilion at the Pharmacy Show this year.

Pharmacy retail sales of natural products and VMS are growing across the UK’s 10,500 pharmacies as increasingly more patients and customers are looking for alternative therapies, treatments and healthcare products.

The Natural Products pavilion will be a distinctive branded area and occupied by leading suppliers, including Natures Dream, Natures Plus, Nativa, Viaherbal, Alpro Soya, Pravera and Maclaren.  The pavilion will be featured heavily in our promotions with pharmacy owners and buyers attending the show.
The Pharmacy Show 2010 is expecting more than 5,000 pharmacy professionals from the independent and multiple sectors for the 2010 show who are looking to increase their lines of natural products and alternative remedies [4,479 attended in 2009].

The Pharmacy Show attendee survey revealed that:

  • 32.4% of attendees are planning to increase supplies of natural or alternative remedies and treatments;  [a further 12.5% said alternative medicines and remedies were their fastest growing category];
  • 35.3% are planning to increase lines of dietary supplements [and 26.9% said natural lines were their fastest growing retail lines].

Show Director, Michael Westcott, commented: “The Pharmacy sector has historically been a notoriously difficult retail sector to access for suppliers of natural products and alternative medicines.  The category has always been viewed with a degree of reluctance by pharmacists.  But the world is of retail pharmacy is changing and their patients are sending a clear message about the fact they want a balanced approach to healthcare and wellbeing in general. This presents a timely opportunity for producer and manufacturers in the VMS and naturals category.”

Why not leverage the most important buying platform for Pharmacies to drive your sales into more than 10,500 community pharmacies across the UK.
