Why do you need to know more about local government and how it works

Local Government touches your lives more than Central Government, running services from public health, bins, planning, adult social care, environmental health, licensing to name but a few. Community pharmacist tend to know little about the structures and functions of Local Government. With greater integration of place based commissioning it could become even more important in the future.
