In 2017 we trained 12,500 pharmacists in their vaccination skills for both flu and travel health. Our credible clinical trainers will provide you with an up to date, fun and interactive training session. We offer bespoke sessions, nationwide open courses, online refreshers and of course training at The Pharmacy Show. Our training on these sessions will cover:

  • Current issues and controversies regarding immunisation
  • Communicating with patients and parents/guardians
  • Legal aspects of vaccines
  • Storage and handling of vaccines
  • Correct administration of vaccines
  • Adverse events including faint, anaphylaxis and panic attacks, including the use of adrenaline


Anyone attending our courses will have access to our refresher videos to refresh their skills at any point.

flu trainingRx Advisor Ltd has been delivering vaccination training courses since 2009 and it has refined its NHS flu jab training course specifically for pharmacists. The course which is designed and delivered by clinical pharmacists provides excellent online resources and information which are available to delegates before and after the workshop.

We have updated our course for 2018 in line with the NHS core curriculum and recent changes in the pharmacy flu jab service. Our course is designed in a manner so that it is as simple as possible for pharmacists to complete. The workshop and online resources provide excellent presentations on everything that is required to deliver a competent and safe service to patients. The course contents are summarised below:

Workshop contents (1 hour):

  • Practical injection techniques – intramuscular & subcutaneous injections
  • Basic life support & CPR for adults and children
     

Online course contents:

  • All injection techniques – intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal
  • Intranasal flu vaccine
  • Anaphylaxis management & adrenaline use
  • Basic life support, CPR, AED device use & managing emergencies
  • NHS service specification & pharmacy PGD
  • Influenza knowledge & useful information about vaccines (including the new adjuvanted trivalent vaccine)
  • Access to purchase a private PGD immediately after completing the training.
