The Pharmacy Show 2025 once again brought the UK pharmacy community together for two days of networking, conversation, innovation and inspiration. It was a reminder of how far the profession has come and how much potential lies ahead. From the latest technological and clinical service developments to discussions on digital transformation and workforce wellbeing, this year’s show reflected a sector ready to evolve.
I was encouraged by the great sense of optimism across the exhibition. Rather than focusing solely on the pressures facing community pharmacy, delegates were talking about solutions, new partnerships and shared opportunities. The energy was collaborative, open and forward-looking, where industry leaders came together with a shared goal of improving patient care and strengthening the sector as a whole.

This year marked the launch of The Pharmacy Owners’ Forum - a dedicated theatre created to spotlight thought leadership, inspire strategic discussion, and highlight innovative solutions shaping the future of pharmacy. Designed for pharmacy owners and senior decision-makers, the Forum provided a dynamic space to exchange ideas, discover new opportunities, and explore ways to strengthen and grow their businesses. With the growth in recent years of new young pharmacy owners, the sessions were well attended with much proactive engagement from attendees, It became a hub of energy and insight, ensuring that those at the heart of community pharmacy were right where the action was. I was delighted with the amount of positive feedback and challenging questions in my presentation which offered ideas and solutions on creating headroom in a pharmacy to allow delivery of more patient services.
The future of pharmacy is changing. Community pharmacies are no longer just places to collect medicines; they are becoming central hubs for clinical care, prevention and wellbeing. The conversations and connections made at this year’s show highlighted a profession on the front line of healthcare transformation - ready to lead change, embrace innovation and deliver better outcomes for patients.
