Simplifying Intimate Health Recommendations for Pharmacists
At Vagentle, we have spent much time considering our customer needs. We concluded that the pivotal commodity is most definitely trust, not just from us as a company but equally at the pharmacy counter.
In feminine care, women are seeking empathy, expertise, and discretion. Running a successful business in this space means more than having the right product on the shelf; rather, it is multifaceted. In essence, it requires equipping the pharmacist, the patient's most accessible healthcare advisor, with the confidence to recommend that product instantly.

This deeply held belief is driving a shift from a purely consumer-driven approach to a Healthcare Professional first strategy that values professional insights and results in clearer, more confident patient recommendations.
Over this past year, we have been busy focusing our efforts on real world research. This has been informed by many discussions with retail partners and a product placement model to gauge responses from pharmacy customers. What has emerged shows us a clear direction. Patients, of course do trust their pharmacist, but they equally value a speedy, well-informed consultation that provides clarity on product effectiveness and use.
Pharmacists likewise require a quality solution that is accompanied by concise information. This supports teams in confidently selecting the right product for common complaints related to antibiotic use, menopausal dryness, or infection.
To support both parties, we revamped our accompanying materials too, meaning patients can now take away clear, concise written information on their chosen Vagentle intimate wash. Our leaflets clearly link the key active ingredients used in Vagentle formulas to conditions frequently encountered. For instance, Chlorhexidine for anti-bacterial support, Biolin/P Prebiotic for microbiota support, and Hyaluronic Acid for moisturising. Patients and pharmacists are easily able to see clearly the specific formulas which support the various life stages of a woman.

We felt that packaging was greatly important too. Whilst we want to be part of the change in ensuring intimate health conversations are not taboo, we recognise there is some way to go with this vision. Our packaging has therefore been created to help pharmacists and patients quickly distinguish between our formula variants at a glance. We designed the packaging to be shelf-friendly and discreet, allowing it to sit seamlessly next to beauty for instance. Vagentle is, however, beyond beauty and is focused specifically on supporting wellness. However, we felt that moving away from the typical clinical aesthetic was important, so customers feel confident placing it in their bathrooms and not hiding it away in a cabinet. As such, we have used soft pastel colours in our branding to support this.
Our wider ambition is to continue to partner directly with pharmacies to ensure women can access solutions for intimate care effectively and swiftly. We also have a vision that Vagentle is the most frequently pharmacist-recommended brand in feminine washes. We are seeking to actively involve pharmacy teams as our partners to achieve this lofty mission. By doing so, we can reduce product complexity and align our support with the everyday realities of the counter. Together with pharmacies, Vagentle is, and will continue to, work hard to empower every consultation and become a worthy and trusted advisor in women's intimate health.
