Vegan Protein Powder Chocolate
The Good Guru’s Vegan chocolate protein powder has over 27g of protein per 40g scoop and only 154.8 calories (of which 70% comes from pure protein) and is used to aid muscle repair and building, especially after workouts. Increased muscle mass raises the body’s basal metabolic rate, so you end up burning more calories. The natural favouring of vanilla, tart cherry and stevia ensures a great-tasting and nutritious drink. Ideal for post-workout or for vegans who want to be sure they have a healthy and balanced protein intake.
Ingredients: Additional Information
Pea Protein: This is one of the best vegan sources of protein containing all essential amino acids (EAA) including BCAA’s (Branch Chain Amino Acids Leucine, isoleucine, and valine) which promote muscle growth. We use a pea protein isolate to ensure a good proportion of protein and a lower amount of carbohydrates. It is also rich in iron so ideal for a vegan diet which can be low in this important mineral. Pea protein is also easy to digest.
Pumpkin Seed Protein is also rich in minerals, essential fatty acids and nutrients like calcium, iron, folate, Vitamin B2 and beta-carotene. Iron is particularly important for energy production and many vegans can be low in iron.
Sunflower Seed Protein Is rich in the amino acid methionine completing the Essential Amino Acids (EAA’s) profile of our powders as pea protein is lower in methionine. Sunflower protein is traditionally used by endurance athletes and bodybuilders. It is rich in zinc, selenium, vitamins E, B1 and B6
Tart Cherry Extract (Montmorency Cherry): Has an abundance of benefits that support exercise performance and recovery. It can reduce muscle soreness and improve the recovery of muscle after strenuous exercise. Tart cherry is also known to reduce inflammation (thanks to anthocyanins) and is a natural source of antioxidants. It aids digestion and its low glycaemic index helps stabilise glucose levels. The tart cherry extract also increases the bioavailability of tryptophan which helps produce melatonin, the sleep hormone, so may help towards better sleep which in turn means more energy for exercise after a good night’s sleep. It is also a good source of magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, iron and zinc.
Turmeric: There are hundreds of studies that show that this spice helps reduce inflammation in the body including in joints and for painful degenerative arthritis. It is also renowned for lifting mood and generally supporting health and wellbeing.
Stevia: This is a plant-based sweetener that tastes 200-300 times sweeter than table sugar without calories (it is considered zero calories). It has minimal to no effects on blood sugar.
