Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship
What they'll learn
Our course will equip your apprentice with a range of Knowledge, Skills, & Behaviors (KSBs) including:
- Dispensing and supply of medicines and medicinal products, safe handling of medicines, and effective dispensing practice
- Pharmacy law and ethics such as: Governance Policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Person centered care: British Values, Equality, and Diversity
- Health and safety in the workplace such as: the importance in following SOPs and keeping others safe
- How to become an effective team member
- Different styles and barriers to communication
How long will it take?
Our Pharmacy Services Assistant apprenticeship takes 12 months to complete the learning and an additional 3 months to undertake the end-point assessment (EPA), totaling 15 months.
Entry requirements Woodspeen Training has rigorous entry criteria for people wanting to enroll on this course. These include:
- Preferred GCSEs in English and Maths grade 9 to 4 (A* to C) or equivalent
- Level 1 English and Maths Functional Skills
- Have been a resident in the UK/EEA/EU for the last 3 years and be in the UK for the duration of the apprenticeship
- Be able to meet the programme modules through the job role
- BKSB Assessment (dependent on the outcome, the learner may need to attend additional Functional Skills lessons on top of their programmed learning)
Qualification
On completion of the programme, your apprentice will be awarded with the Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant apprenticeship standard.
As an enhancement to develop your staff, all apprentices will complete a GPhC accredited Health Care Assistant (HCA) course, which includes Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) and Dispensing Assistant (DA) qualifications.
