Atrial fibrillation - size of the prize (part 1)
06 Oct 2019
Part 1 - The NHS Long Term Plan identifies cardiovascular disease as a clinical priority and the single biggest condition where lives can be saved by the NHS over the next 10 years. Evidence suggests that anticoagulation initiated for high risk AF patients will avert one stroke for every 25 patients treated. This session will focus on opportunities to reduce mortality and morbidity associated with atrial fibrillation (AF) and highlight schemes improving early detection of AF and uptake of anticoagulation for those at risk.
