Is your pharmacy fit for the future?

As a leading provider of OTC solutions to pharmacy, Bayer Consumer Health is making a long-term commitment to upskill pharmacists and pharmacy teams. The Business Fit for the Future programme is a comprehensive, CPD accredited support package designed to build commercial confidence and business acumen.

More than three in five (61%) pharmacists don’t feel they have all the business knowledge and skills to run the commercial aspects of pharmacy operations fully effectively and cite stress levels at a worrying 8/10. This is in part due to the pressures of running a profitable business, something which this initiative aims to support.

Officially launching at the Pharmacy Show, this multifaceted programme of activity, offers training resources that aim to positively impact the bottom line as well as
upskill pharmacy teams capabilities to retain customers for the future. The guidance is available in a variety of formats to suit different learning needs with content for pharmacy managers as well as versions for pharmacy staff.

To get your hands on the first module in the series, visit the Bayer Consumer Health stand PF30 where you can discuss the content with Bayer’s pharmacy experts, ask questions and learn about the online portal which will have additional content and learning support tools.

As part of the Business Fit for the Future initiative, the Bayer team will also be fronting two presentations in the Business Theatre, on each day of the Pharmacy Show exhibition, giving you the opportunity to hear first-hand the recommendations of two highly experienced business leaders – check out the show guide for the specific times.

Session 1: Grow your business!
Mark Ackland-Snow, Head of Pharmacy at Bayer will share his business expertise and advice on what it takes to grow your business and win in the self-care space.

Mark will shine a light on some key trends facing pharmacy businesses today including:

  • What’s shaping consumer behaviour
  • Pharmacy shopper needs
  • A look at different shopper profiles
  • How to create an open dialogue

Mark’s advice centres on being attune to your customer’s requirements and his practical tips and advice can be easily applied to make a real difference to your pharmacy business.

Session 2: Optimise your retail skills and space
Justin Burbage, Head of Sales at Bayer Consumer Health will continue the business skills training in the afternoon by looking at how to optimise the retail side of pharmacy to make it work for your local community. He will explore the importance of evaluating your OTC offering for your area and how to develop your pharmacy
team’s selling skills.

The topic was established to directly address pharmacy feedback which shows that 2 in 5 pharmacists:

  • Are not confident or happy with their selling skills
  • Admit that selling isn’t a strong skill set of their team generally
  • Would like to see their own and their team’s selling skills improve

This presentation will help you recognise the benefits that improving your skills in this space will bring.

Both sessions will be packed with informative materials and insights that you can take back to your pharmacy. Plus you can meet both Mark and Justin after the sessions on the Bayer Stand PF30 to ask your questions and get 1:1 support.

What’s more – Bayer is running exclusive Pharmacy Show offers for all pharmacists who place an order at the show.
