The Pharmacy Show is back at the Birmingham NEC on 12–13 October – and this year’s speaker line-up is brimming with fresh talent. We’re always looking to find fresh perspectives at the show, and 2025 is no different, with a host of new voices ready to share bold ideas, practical insights, and real-world experiences.
Community pharmacy is evolving fast, and our newest speakers reflect that transformation. They’re here to challenge, inspire, and help you navigate the future with confidence.
Below is a highlight of some of the speakers who are taking to the stage for the very first time at the Pharmacy Show. Take a look at some of our first-time speakers...
Dervis Gurol - Director, Independent Pharmacy Contractors Network.
Louise Baglole - Director of Professional Services, NPA.
Louise registered as a pharmacist in 1995 having qualified from Brighton University. Louise worked at Celesio for over 20 years in a variety of roles including working as a Pharmacy Manager and then combining the role with sessional work at a GP practice , a role she did for many years. With her love for continued learning in 2000 Louise completed a Clinical Diploma in Community Pharmacy at Aston University and before starting her roles within service development specialising in medicines management and respiratory, Louise managed several pharmacy IT programmes.
Over her 12 years within Pharmacy Services Development Louise lead various teams and clinical responsibilities and gained a Diploma in Management from Northampton University. In January 2014 Louise headed up the clinical team of ten pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the development and implementation of a wide range of services across various channels.
Louise became a successful consultant for several years working across the sector including the NPA and PSNC as Head of Operations for Healthcare Together, for Cambrian Alliance as a Service Development Manager and as a freelance writer for varying clients. In 2019, Louise joined the NPA as Head of Learning and Development supporting the workforce agenda for both accredited and non-accredited training.
Jonathan Burton - Chair - Scottish Pharmacy Board & Assembly Member & Co-owner, Community Pharmacist & Independent Prescriber, RPS & Right Medicine Pharmacy
Dr Yasmin Karsan - Clinical Safety Officer and Medical Device Consultants, Digital Clinical Safety.
Yasmin Karsan is a pharmacist with 10+ years of experience and a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence. She founded a pharmacogenomics startup called Peachy Healthcare. It uses salvia based genetic testing to personalize medication therapy for patients to reduce side effects and ensure the right medicine is prescribed. Yasmin is passionate about using technology to improve patient outcomes and has developed innovative solutions for medication management and patient education.
Danny Bartlett - Clinical Lead, Primary Care School Kent Surrey and Sussex.
Speaking in a personal capacity, Danny Bartlett MRPharmS PGCert IP is the Clinical Lead at the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Primary Care School within NHS England, following over a decade in the profession. He qualified as a pharmacist in 2014, beginning his career in community pharmacy before transitioning into general practice, where he spent over five years delivering patient-centred care and medicines optimisation.
Passionate about workforce development and interprofessional education, Danny has led numerous innovative initiatives to expand clinical competence and supervision across primary care. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Brighton, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of pharmacist prescribing. As the DPP Quality Assurance Lead, he’s helped raise national standards for supervision and training.
Danny has a longstanding interest in cardiovascular and metabolic disease education, and has spearheaded workforce upskilling through structured placements, national coaching, and leadership of multidisciplinary training programs. A firm believer in collaboration, Danny champions a unified, cross-professional approach to education, development, and retention within the primary care workforce.
In addition to his clinical and academic work, Danny is an elected member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s English Pharmacy Board, where he contributes to policy and advocacy for the profession. His commitment to improving care through education and innovation underpins everything he does.
