Voyager Medical: Pharmacists ACP & GP Led Pharmacy Training Provider, Specialist Level Travel Vaccinations Training Programme & ‘Low Pain’ Vaccination Clinic Training
Voyager Medical Junior Specialist Travel Vaccinations Training Programme
We have educated more than 10,000 pharmacists and allied healthcare professionals via our online PGD training programme and 3,000 pharmacists in our Specialist-Led Travel Vaccinations Training Programme. Alex Leung, Clinical Director and CEO, is the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow’s London advisor for Travel Medicine and a specialist in Immunisation. He is the only UK pharmacist who has served as the Clinical Lead for NHS Childhood Immunisations Clinic in GP practices and the only specialist clinical trainer to teach and offer BCG vaccination and Mantoux Test.
Low Pain Vaccination Technique (Unique to Voyager Medical)
Alex is specialised in Low Pain Vaccinations Techniques focusing on using the correct speed, angle, location and distraction strategies, as a primary cause of a patient’s disinclination to have a vaccination is because of the potential pain they will experience.
We conducted a study of 100 patients on the level of pain they experienced immediately after being vaccinated. By applying our unique Low Pain techniques:
- 91 out of 100 patients reported a pain score of 0 to 2
- 7 out of 100 patients reported a pain score of 3 to 4
- 1 out of 100 patients reported a pain score 7
- 1 out of 100 patients reported a pain score 9
With 10 being the most painful and 0 being no pain at all.
Overall, by applying Low Pain vaccination techniques, we have successfully created a positive experience for patients who are willing to return to our clinic for their next foreign travel visit or the next season.
Voyager Medical has a comprehensive accrediting process for Low Pain vaccination techniques. If you are interested in learning these techniques, please get in touch via the contact details at the end of this article.
