Dr Irmgard van Rensen is a pharmacist with over 25 years' experience in scientific communication, regulatory affairs and natural products research. She heads the Department of Medicine and Communication at Certmedica International GmbH, where she has worked since 2017, and has led the company's clinical research since 2021. She studied pharmacy at the University of Wurzburg and went on to earn a PhD in pharmaceutical biology. Her career spans roles as scientific advisor, lecturer and independent consultant, covering the evaluation of clinical trials, pharmacological research and educational programmes. She has authored numerous publications on phytotherapy, pharmacokinetics and natural medicine, and has lectured on the distance-learning molecular biology programme at the University of Mainz.
