Following a number of years working in corporate pharmacy, Michael established his own community pharmacy group in 1988. In 2005 he became the Chief Officer of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Pharmaceutical Committee where many innovations in pharmacy services began including the Healthy Living Pharmacy initiative. He was appointed as the Chief Executive of the UK’s National Pharmacy Association in 2011.
Michael founded a consultancy in 2015 working with community pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry, and health and public health organisations. He continues to support innovation in clinical practice and has developed a movement to support the development of modern community pharmacy practice (www.mcpp.uk).
