Shane Smith is the founder and Chief Executive of JeanieIQ. He is also Managing Director of Electrical Switchgear Services Ltd, an engineering business he formed in 2004 and has grown to 70 employees and a turnover of £20 million. He learned business the hard way. Starting out on his own, he has faced every battle a small business faces — cash flow, recruitment, compliance, and an administrative load that arrives long before there is anyone to hand it to. Shane and Kris Murphy have worked closely together for years and fought every one of those challenges side by side: one building and running the company, the other the accountant who has spent three decades hearing the same frustrations from clients. Between them they bring a considerable breadth of experience across the practical realities of running a business — finance, people, compliance and operations — and it is that combined experience, with specialist input from a range of sectors, that has gone into JeanieIQ.
