Aileen is the Chief Pharmaceutical Officers Clinical Fellow based at the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Aileen is passionate about clinical leadership and management and has a broad range of experience from previous roles as a specialist clinical pharmacy team leader, principal pharmacist drug expenditure programme and a system-wide role as an integrated care system (ICS) pharmacy project lead. Aileen holds a master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy and is a certified independent prescriber. Aileen jointly led a Trust a wide drug expenditure programme (DEP) and clinical informatics project which identified and delivered cross cutting schemes and transformation plans. As part for her ICS role Aileen drafted the SEL ICS Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy response to the long-term plan (LTP). Aileen is currently leading on a national pilot themed review focusing on good clinical governance in the community pharmacy sector. Aileen has delivered and contributed to a variety of programmes of work during her fellowship at the GPhC including Patient Safety Spotlight articles for Regulate, a specialist inspection prioritisation tool & workplan, NHSE/I clinical workstreams, Inclusive Pharmacy Practice briefing paper, GPhC clinical training sessions, RPS independent prescribing scope of practice review and sits on the Pharmacy Genomics workforce group.
