Ajit qualified as a pharmacist in India in 1999. In his 24 years of professional career, he has worked in almost every sector of pharmacy and healthcare. He started my career in India as a medical representative with leading pharmaceutical companies including Novartis before moving to the UK in 2003.
After moving to the UK, he registered as a Pharmacy Technician. He started his pharmacy career in the UK in a community pharmacy. In 2009 he joined a national team with Lloyds Pharmacy supporting training and audits for care and nursing homes. From there in 2013 he moved to the independent health sector working with Care UK Healthcare Ltd. as the Lead Pharmacy Technician. In this role, he supported the chief pharmacists for primary and secondary care for compliance with regulations for independent hospitals, GP practices, urgent care services, and health in justice.
In 2017 he joined the CQC medicines optimisation team as a Medicines Inspector. Our team supports inspections across all health sectors, develops and delivers training, and gets involved in policy matters related to medicines.
