Anthony Singh
BMS Accredited Menopause Specialist & Clinical Pharmacist
Anthony Singh, selected for the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme (CEP) 2025 cohort, is leading a nationwide initiative to improve menopause care. He established the UK’s first pharmacist-led menopause clinic, supporting over 1,500 women in 15 months and demonstrating the significant impact pharmacists can have.
Recognizing that many pharmacists feel underprepared, Singh's project focuses on creating a national model for education and clinical delivery. The goal is to train pharmacy professionals to become confident first-line providers, which would reduce GP workload and improve equitable access for women. He also advocates for expanding the Designated Prescribing Practitioner (DPP) role to embed menopause care into prescribing training, building workforce capability and normalizing women's health in medicine.
The success of Singh's clinic, which has received national recognition, highlights the effectiveness of pharmacist-led care. Clinic data shows that 69% of women would have otherwise seen a GP or paid for private care. The long-term aim of his CEP project is to develop a scalable framework so this model can be replicated across the country, ensuring every woman has access to high-quality, free menopause support from within the NHS, with pharmacists at the forefront.
