Elsy is a fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society who qualified as a pharmacist in the UK in 2001. She is an overseas pharmacist who worked as a pharmacy assistant and technician before completing the Postgraduate Diploma for Overseas Pharmacists. Since her qualification, she has worked at numerous NHS Trusts, holding appointments as a specialist pharmacist and leading pharmacy teams. Elsy is an innovative leader and a passionate advocate of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and improving Health Inequalities. In 2018, Elsy founded the UK Black Pharmacist Association and 2019 ""Romford Speakers"", an affiliated club of Toastmasters International. In 2020 she served as a Pharmacists' Defence Association Union for South East Regional Committee member and became the first president of the PDA BAME Network. Elsy enjoys reading, writing, travelling, playing chess and dancing salsa.
