Clinical Lead - Live Services, NHS Digital
Faraaz began his pharmacy career in community pharmacy, before transitioning into Hospital Pharmacy. He took his first role as a Clinical Resident Pharmacist at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (BHNFT). Faraaz has undertaken clinical training through various specialist rotations and has attained a postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy. He has held senior roles in accident & emergency as a Senior Interface & Formulary pharmacist working across care boundaries. In 2016 Faraaz was the Lead Pharmacist for Medicines Information & Cardiology at BHNFT, he led several pharmacy services including homecare, procurement, medicines information and cardiology. Faraaz specialised in cardiology and undertook his independent prescribing qualification before taking on the role of Lead Clinical Pharmacist for EPMA & ICT Projects. Faraaz worked on the implementation of Lorenzo EPMA from formulary configuration, business change to go-live. He has also clinically led, advised and project managed several digital transformation, quality improvement and patient safety projects for the trust. Faraaz has also helped to design and deliver bespoke pharmacy and medical informatics apps and tools that have transformed the way care has been provide. He is currently one of the Clinical Leads for Live Services at NHS Digital and still practices as a clinical pharmacist.
