Sam Uveges
Specialist Pharmacy Technician For Hepatitis Homecare,
My Trust Pharmacy
Sam started in pharmacy as an Apprentice Dispensary assistant at Nottingham University Hospital in May of 2012 and qualified in May of 2013. From there he worked for a short time in tertiary care at Nottingham Treatment Centre before moving to Trust Pharmacy in November 2014.
During his time at Trust Pharmacy he has worked in various capacities including in training and development and stock management. He has also taken an active role in the running and upkeep of the dispensing robot.
He started a Pre-registration trainee Pharmacy Technician course in October of 2019 and finally completed this in September 2021. He then started his Specialist Pharmacy Technician Role in January of 2022.
The specialist role is very different to a traditional pharmacy technician role and encompasses all of the skills you learn as a pharmacy technician but, in a very different setting. He really enjoys working with a small team of people from all different medical backgrounds including Nurses, Pharmacists, clinical support staff, Biomedical scientists, Peer workers and drug and alcohol services. It has really helped to expand his horizons and also test his knowledge relating to the different queries and scenarios that come the team’s way.
Sam looks forward to speaking to everyone at the Pharmacy Show and hopes that this can be the start of a new phase in the work England are undertaking to eliminate Hepatitis C.
