Shilan started her career as a hospital pharmacist before progressing onto primary care to specialise in medicines optimisation. She transitioned into central government, working at DHSC overseeing the national management of medicines to ensure continuity of supply as part of the department’s responsibility. Currently, she works in a strategic and operational role within UKHSA leading on the supply chain assurance of COVID vaccines for the UK.
She is passionate about empowering women and advocates for pharmacy professionals in all sectors of national policy and strategic work and most importantly tackling inequalities to ensure best outcomes for patients.
