Building the future of independent prescribing in community pharmacy: insights, opportunities, and the way forward

Delivering the opportunity presented by having prescribing pharmacists in community pharmacy is a key element in maximising the sector’s contribution to patient care and ensuring the sustainability of the network. This session will report on research to consider the views of pharmacists, patients, GPs and commissioners on the expansion of prescribing within community pharmacy, and present a framework to set out the way forward for expanding prescribing in community pharmacy. This policy research was supported by The Health Foundation, The NHS Alliance, Q and thiscovery, commissioned by the NPA and NPA Health Education Foundation.
