Cardiorenal metabolic syndrome encompasses the spectrum of dysfunctions involving the cardiovascular, renal and metabolic systems. These conditions often co-exist which increases morbidity and mortality. Early identification and management are key. Pharmacological agents are used in prevention, delaying disease progression and improving outcomes. Pharmacists have an important role in managing cardiorenal metabolic syndrome through screening, optimisation of medicines and lifestyle counselling.
 
Learning Outcomes:
1. Discuss the role of pharmacist in the identification and management of patients with cardiorenal metabolic syndrome.
2. Outline the pharmacological agents used in the treatment of cardiorenal metabolic syndrome.
3. Describe some of the challenges for medicine optimisation and how to overcome them.
