Menopause affects around half of the population, yet many pharmacists report receiving limited formal education on its management. As demand for menopause support continues to grow, pharmacists across all sectors are increasingly being called upon to provide evidence-based advice, optimise treatment, and support patients navigating symptoms that can significantly impact quality of life.
This session will explore the practical realities of menopause management in clinical practice, covering symptom recognition, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) options, common misconceptions, and approaches to patient-centred consultations. Drawing on experience from one of the UK's first pharmacist-led NHS menopause clinics, the session will highlight how pharmacists can play a pivotal role in improving access to care and supporting better patient outcomes.
Attendees will leave with greater confidence in discussing menopause, optimising treatment choices, recognising when referral is appropriate, and applying current evidence to everyday practice.
