Masterclass: independent prescribing
Qualifying as an Independent Prescriber is a significant milestone, but many pharmacists are left asking, "What next?" Moving from qualification to routine prescribing can feel daunting, with challenges around confidence, governance, clinical decision-making and integrating prescribing into existing roles.
This interactive masterclass provides practical guidance for pharmacists at all stages of their prescribing journey. It will explore how to develop confidence in clinical consultations, manage clinical uncertainty, build safe prescribing habits, and establish effective governance processes. Drawing on real-life experiences of implementing prescribing services across community pharmacy and digital healthcare, the session will share practical tools, common pitfalls and strategies for delivering high-quality, patient-centred prescribing. Whether attendees are newly qualified or looking to expand their prescribing practice, they will leave with actionable insights to support safe and effective independent prescribing.
