The Pan-London Pharmacy EDI Group has developed a practical Inclusive Language Guide to help pharmacy professionals communicate respectfully with colleagues, patients and communities from diverse backgrounds.
The guide responds to a need for clear, accessible support on everyday language that promotes inclusion and avoids unintended harm. The resource focuses on three communities often underrepresented in professional guidance: neurodivergent people, LGBTQ+ people and people from global majority backgrounds.
Developed collaboratively, it encourages reflective, person-centred communication practices and highlights the importance of person-centred language in both clinical and professional environments.
